In this world, there are a few rare souls whose very presence exudes a kind of radiance—an energy that disarms cynicism and invites awe. When you're near them, something primal and protective stirs. You don’t just admire them. You want to wrap the world in bubble wrap so they can move through it unharmed.

For me, there are two such people: my beloved sister Tracey and my dear friend Liv.

Their presence in my life is sacred. They are living proof of the human spirit’s capacity to radiate love, tenderness, and authenticity. In their own ways, Tracey and Liv embody what it means to be fully alive, fully attuned, and wholly engaged with the world around them. Their light is not performative. It is steady. It is real. And it serves as a beacon—guiding me back to my own heart when I get lost in the noise.

Growing up, I often felt like an outsider, constantly reshaping myself to fit into molds that didn’t suit me. But Tracey… she didn’t. Or maybe she couldn’t. Or maybe she just knew something I didn’t yet: that compromising your truth is too steep a price for belonging. I tried to protect her, of course. I scolded bullies at the bus stop, pleaded with her to “act normal,” not out of shame but out of fear. I was terrified the world wouldn’t see the beauty I saw.
