I almost didn’t include this chapter.

Not because it’s untrue, but because I worried it might cast shadows where I want to create light. But if I’ve learned anything on this journey, it’s that healing doesn’t come from glossing over the hardest parts. It comes from walking through them with eyes open, heart open, and a willingness to face yourself.

And this part of my story? It’s not easy to face.
